The documentary film by writer Kristina Kretova and songwriter Anna Kameneva, “Women and roads. The way to yourself. Baikal,” was filmed during an unconventional all-female road trip around the deepest lake in the world. During their journey, four successful women from Saint Petersburg met with fellow Russian women living in Siberia and conducted small interviews with them about their lives, work, female happiness, and the secret of success. The heroines, including a shaman, a leader of a major enterprise, a abbess, the Minister of Culture of Buryatia, the lama of the only female daatsan in Russia, and others, were asked the key question of the film: “What difficulties shaped you as a person, and what inspired you to overcome them?” The answers, like the journey itself, turned out to be fascinating, and formed the basis for the film.
